Tomorrow Living and CO

Designed by Kate from Tomorrow Living and delivered in collaboration with Stone Ambassador and NB Custom Builds, this residence offers a refined interpretation of coastal living, one grounded in warmth, restraint and material-led design. From the outset, Kate was guided by clients who had spent years refining their visual preferences, arriving at a confident understanding of the colours and atmospheres they were drawn to. A clear thread emerged early on: warm palettes layered with texture in closely related tones, forming the foundation of the home’s interior direction.

The brief was succinct yet evocative: a home near the beach, but not a beach house. Rather than leaning into predictable coastal references, the interior was curated to feel light and airy while remaining deeply cosy and homely. While the exterior presents as bold and architectural, the interior deliberately softens the scale of the home through colour, texture and thoughtful material transitions. The surrounding landscape informed many of these decisions, with trees and branches sitting at eye level due to the home’s elevated position, subtly bringing the outside in.

Taj Mahal porcelain became the anchor for the project. Selected early in the design process, its multi-tonal movement allowed the surrounding finishes to be drawn directly from within the stone itself. Warm timber joinery, soft greige cabinetry and brushed nickel fixtures were carefully selected to reflect and elevate the porcelain’s natural variation, while walls finished in a warm neutral tone provide cohesion across all zones. In the bathrooms, Travertino Ivory introduces a contrasting texture while remaining tonally aligned — different in character, yet complementary in spirit.

Beyond its aesthetic contribution, porcelain offered the versatility and performance required for a highly lived-in home. Used throughout kitchens, laundries, bathrooms and even the fireplace hearth, it delivers durability, heat resistance and ease of maintenance without compromising softness or design intent.

Now complete, the home feels warm, inviting and quietly grand. The directional movement of Taj Mahal porcelain creates a sense of calm and continuity, guiding the eye from space to space. Brought to life through the craftsmanship of NB Custom Builds and the considered vision of Kate from Tomorrow Living, the result is a layered, unexpected interior — a true personal retreat that continues to reveal itself over time.
