When renovating the Rubus townhouses in Berry, our goal was to create a unique space that blended the warmth of a home with the luxury of a high-end hotel. Located in the picturesque NSW South Coast town, these townhouses were designed for short-term stays under the Linnaeus Collection, with each offering a spacious, inviting environment for guests.

Inspired by the natural beauty of Berry and the Linnaeus Collection’s focus on connecting with nature, we designed each townhouse with a distinct colour theme—soft pinks, blues, and greens—to create a lively yet harmonious atmosphere. Bold colours were woven throughout the interiors, from feature walls to styling, bringing the outdoors in.

For the materials, we chose Ottoman Grey from Stone Ambassador’s Zenith Surfaces for its stunning aesthetic and durability. The kitchen, a key focal point, features these surfaces, which provide the perfect balance of elegance and functionality. The natural tones of Ottoman Grey complement the concrete floors and timber elements, tying the design together beautifully.

The Stone Ambassador surfaces truly shine in the kitchen, adding depth and visual interest while blending seamlessly with the minimalist design. The contrast with the concrete floors and warmth of the timber furnishings creates a perfect balance of style and practicality.

This project wouldn’t have been possible without our talented collaborators. Architect Vic Lake maximised natural light and open spaces, NJ Built brought the design to life with precision, and Manticore Projects oversaw the development. SOUL Home ensured every detail reflected both form and function.

We prioritised both style and function in the kitchen, with ample storage and smart design solutions to cater to groups of guests. The result is a space that offers luxury and comfort, with Stone Ambassador surfaces at the heart of the kitchen’s design, creating a perfect blend of elegance and practicality.

Rubus is a true example of how thoughtful design can balance aesthetics and function, delivering a memorable guest experience while offering the best of both worlds.
