When Kerry and Johnny, best known for their time on Married at First Sight, set out to renovate their new home, they envisioned something refined yet deeply personal,  a space that would radiate warmth, luxury, and character without structural change. The goal was simple but ambitious: to elevate their kitchen into a true statement of style while staying grounded in comfort and authenticity.

Their design journey began with a sentimental piece, a surfboard-shaped travertine dining table that had been in Kerry’s family for more than 30 years. A wedding gift from her parents-in-law, the table became the emotional and aesthetic anchor of the entire project. “That table became the inspiration for our entire colour palette,” Kerry explains. “We wanted everything, the carpet, tiles, floorboards, and especially the stone, to complement its soft, sun-kissed blonde tones.”

When it came to choosing stone, Kerry and Johnny turned once again to Stone Ambassador, having previously worked with the brand in their former home. With its warm blonde base and moody gold veining, it became the thread that ties the entire house together, flowing seamlessly through the kitchen, butler’s pantry, laundry, and bathrooms. Each space highlights the stone in a unique way, paired with black, gold, and copper finishes for a balance of sophistication and subtle drama.

One of the most defining design moments came when Kerry and Johnny decided to block out two kitchen windows to create a full wall of stone, a daring move in a home that once lacked natural light. Encouraged by their good friend Alisa, a The Block alum and professional renovator, they trusted their instincts and the material. The result is breathtaking, a luminous expanse of Taj Mahal porcelain that instantly elevates the space, proving that bold choices pay off.

For Kerry and Johnny, stone is more than a surface, it’s a symbol of timeless beauty and endurance. “Stone brings a sense of grandeur through its natural texture and elegance,” Kerry shares. “It’s something that never dates and makes every day in our home feel a little more special.”
